Your ten rules of the road are simple. If you’re fending off harassing bill collectors you need to follow these 10 rules and if you do, you’ll surely see success in your endeavors and be able to get the breathing space you need in order to get yourself financially back in order.
The Ten Rules of the Road
1. Thou shall not be disrespectful to the collector.
2. Thou shall at all times be civil with to collector.
3. Thou shall not use profane language with the collector.
4. Thou shall not lie to the collector; if you say you’re going to send a payment, then send a payment.
5. Thou shall not tape record the collector unless the collector gives you permission.
6. Thou shall turn the other cheek and write a cease and desist letter to the collector, and shall be sent mail return receipt requested.
7. Thou shall not exaggerate or embellish anything that happens with the collector. You’ll just report the facts and nothing but the fact.
8. Thou shall take good notes of all calls and the notes shall be taken during the call and immediately after the call.
9. Thou shall keep and save all letters and envelopes.
10. Thou shall save all communications of any nature or description.
